Nepal Environmental Lawyers' Association (NELA) is a Nepal-based non-partisan, non-profitable non-governmental organization works within the sector of environment, public health and human rights through legal, educational, technical, and information assistance programs. It is registered with HMG-Nepal. A forum established by a group of professional lawyers, advocating effectively for the protection and promotion of environmental and human rights since 2003.

NELA advocates on behalf of the vulnerable peoples such as victims of human rights violation and HIV/AIDS infected to ensure their rights through legal remedies, advocacy, campaign building and long term and short term intervention. It has been serving for the development and dissemination of innovative approach and exchange of information in human rights dimension of environment, health and many shadowed issues like sexual minorities etc.

  
 
• Carry out research and study on the issues of environment, public health and human rights.
• Advocate for the protection and promotion of environment and human rights nationally/internationally.
• Study and disseminate national and international laws related to the environment and sensitize the concern authorities for the implementation of the provisions of those laws.
• Study plans and policies related to the environment in national and international level and give concrete suggestions to the concern authorities for the significant achievement.
• Raise public awareness through seminars, interactions, workshops and trainings.
• Lobby for the enactment of necessary laws
